Discover ‘Santa’s Secret Island’ of drone shows and snowy grottos at Bluewaters

Santa sets up shop at the island destination with exclusive holiday experiences from December 17-26.

Dubai, UAE, 20 December 2021: Santa Claus is coming to town and he’s turning all of Bluewaters into his personal Secret Island. From December 17 – 26, the tranquil island paradise will transform into a snowy winter wonderland with thrilling activities and sights for the whole family.

Scintillating reindeer sculptures, tinsel-wrapped Tannenbaum trees and decorative lights will make spirits bright, enhancing the bluish glow of the island’s towering tree-like structures. Let the lights guide you straight to a lively grotto where Santa is dishing out season’s greetings and memorable photos with his trusty elves, which you will receive in print and digital forms. If you have a list of wishes, you can write the man of the hour a letter at Bluewaters and drop it in a dedicated mailbox so it reaches him without delay.

Among the season’s most unforgettable sights, Bluewaters is hosting its second edition of drone shows for the Dubai Shopping Festival. Everyday until the end of the shopping season on January 30, 2022, you can see hundreds of drones create breath-taking animations in the evening sky at 7pm and 9:30pm. On the ground, a holiday marching band, twinkling dancers, a giant polar bear and captivating performers will roam the destination’s vast avenues, with live singers and musicians serenading crowds from The Wharf.

Bluewaters is also home to a number of unique shops and boutiques, some which are serving up special promotions to visitors.

A can’t miss experience while you’re scouting shopping sales and Santa’s Secret Island is the world-famous wax attraction Madame Tussauds, which opened at Bluewaters this past October. It brings 60 life-like figures of global stars to the city, including 16 brand new wax figures from the Middle East region. Don’t forget to grab tickets to the attraction before they sell out – people from all over have been visiting to grab selfies with the lookalikes of Tom Cruise, Kylie Jenner, Shah Rukh Khan and more.

Ain Dubai, the world’s largest observation wheel, is another spectacular experience to add to your to-do list. Standing tall at over 250-metres high with 48 high-tech, air-conditioned cabins, this brand-new tourist favourite boasts breathtaking 360-degree views of Dubai’s iconic skyline, the Arabian sea and all the action down below at Bluewaters.

Have your fill of winter and Dubai-only experiences before settling in for a gourmet meal at one of the destination’s prime food haunts.
