Dubai Opera hosted the event as Samsung showcased key activations and announced the Samsung category award winners, including Amina Muaddi, Annabella Hilal, and Lil Nas X

Dubai, UAE – 9 December 2021 – Samsung Gulf Electronics has successfully concluded its latest collaboration with GQ Middle East on the annual ‘Men of the Year’ award ceremony, with 300 celebrities promoting Galaxy Ecosystem activations whilst honoring the Samsung category award winners at Dubai Opera in the UAE. Samsung partnered with the leading fashion and lifestyle brand ahead of the 2021 awards ceremony, which paid tribute to the region’s best and brightest talent in style, art, film, and culture.

Drawing on the region’s vast talent pool across these important areas, Samsung’s awards were given to individuals who demonstrated outstanding pioneering potential in projects comprising creativity, uniqueness, or innovation. GQ’s Men of the Year cover shoot featured three individuals; cult designer Amina Muaddi, famed musician Lil Nas X, and Palestinian actor Adam Bakri who is best known for his starring role in the Oscar-nominated film ‘Omar’. All three feature on the cover of the latest issue of GQ Middle East , with the Galaxy S21 Ultra used to capture exclusive images of the winners.

Amina Muaddi, Jordanian-Romanian fashion designer and shoemaker, won ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’, a standout creative field candidate. Having grown her brand from scratch, she now works with several world-renowned stars in the fashion and entertainment world. Also, awarded as the ‘Media Personality of the Year’, is the inspiring Annabella Hilal who has been closely associated with Samsung in the last few years. Anabella is a familiar face in the regional media and fashion landscapes and was announced the winner for her engaging style and ever-increasing popularity with regional audiences. Meanwhile, Lil Nas X won ‘Musician of the Year’. The American rapper and singer first rose to prominence 2019 when his ‘Old Town Road’ single achieved viral popularity and has since become a diamond certified artist.
