Taiko Launches New Saturday Brunch

DUBAI, UAE January 24 2022 – Nothing says celebration like a glamourous brunch with your friends and loved ones where you can dress up, show up and indulge in a delectable and thriving food scene. If you’re a brunch aficionado that loves trying amusingly unconventional experiences, then you’ll be thrilled to know that Taiko, the contemporary Asian restaurant and bar located in Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk has just announced the launch of its new Taiko Brunch on 19^th February 2022.

Start your weekend right with Taiko’s fabulous and glitzy Saturday brunch experience like no other. Enjoy a vibrant social atmosphere, phenomenal music and let Taiko take you on an exotic path along the ancient Silk Road, adventuring through flavours and textures from beautiful Asia through to the Middle East.

Executive Chef, Schilo van Coevorden, is passionate about serving creative, contemporary Asian cuisine fused with local, seasonal produce to create a whole new unique dining concept. The Taiko Brunch strikes the perfect balance of contemporary and creative flavour combinations resulting in quality, authentic Asian dishes with a deliciously contrasting local twist. The 5-course rotating set-menu comprises over 15 dishes – expect to find delectable plates such as Hiromasa King Fish Sashimi, Steak Tartare Bo Ssam, Rock Oysters with Passion Fruit Mignonette, Black Garlic Hummus and Kimchi Melon. Lamb and Date Gyoza, Shisha Sushi, Black Cod and Taiko Biryani further add to the excitement, with a sweet ending of Mango Sticky rice and rich Chocolate Structures with Wasabi Stone and Chocolate Sorbet to savour in style. Better still, you can choose from an extensive range of beverages including spirits, aperitif and liqueurs, selected beer, white, red and rose wine, cocktails and champagne.

Set amongst a dramatic ambience of magical mystery, Taiko has a mesmerising show kitchen taking centre stage, that revolves around a char-fired robata grill, as well as a live sushi bar to further add to the mystique. Taiko leaves no stone unturned when it comes to keeping with tradition with attention to detail at every corner. Counter elements across the venue are finished with black pebbles sourced from ancient riverbeds in China, shaped into fluid forms and rounded shapes that are a symbol of eternity and ethereal balance in Asian culture. All decorative light fittings are interpretations of classic Chinese lanterns with the impressive floating light installation above the cocktail bar is reminiscent of floating lanterns.

The stunning setting of Taiko perfectly encapsulates the charm of Asia. Coupled with the resident DJ and various exciting beverage activations throughout the day, the Taiko Brunch is the perfect hotspot to while away the weekend and create magical memories amongst friends.

Post brunch, the party doesn’t have to stop, and you can extend the day with the Taiko After Party from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with a special Happy Hour menu and DJ.

Brunch is priced at AED 355 for a 5-course set menu and non-alcoholic beverages including water, soft drinks, fresh juices and mocktails. The alcoholic option which includes a 5-course set menu and premium house beverage including beers, wine and cocktails is AED 495 and AED 750 for a 5- course set menu and champagne.

Taiko is located on the 4^th floor of Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk Hotel, connected to WAFI Mall. Taiko’s Saturday Brunch runs from 1:00pm – 4:00pm with an afterparty from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.  During weekdays the bar is open from 6:00pm – 1:00am with Happy Hour available from 10:00pm to midnight.
